The short version
This website sets no cookies. There is no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no data is sold or shared for marketing. That is why you don't see a cookie banner here — there is nothing to consent to on an ordinary visit.
What we do collect
Visit statistics (no cookies, no personal information)
We use self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics (Umami) to count visits and see which pages and buttons are used. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses in identifiable form, and collects no names or contact details. This aggregate, anonymous data helps us understand which of our information pages are useful. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)); under POPIA no personal information is processed by these statistics.
The contact form (only what you type)
If you use our contact form, we receive the details you choose to send — your name, email, phone number if given, and message. We use them only to reply to you. Submissions are processed by our website host (Netlify) on our behalf. We keep enquiries only as long as needed to help you.
The map (loads only if you click)
The "Load map" button embeds Google Maps. Google may set its own cookies once you click — that is why the map does not load automatically. Loading the map is your choice each visit; see Google's privacy policy.
WhatsApp and phone
If you contact us on WhatsApp or by phone, that conversation happens on those services under their own terms. We use your number only to respond to you.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) — and, for visitors in the EU, the GDPR — you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to processing.
