Academic Calendar
Our academic year follows the general CAPS-aligned school calendar used across South Africa: four school terms, with formal tests and examinations at set points in the year.
The CAPS assessment rhythm
- Four school terms — the year runs on the standard South African term structure, with breaks between terms.
- Mid-year examinations — formal exams are typically written mid-year, around June.
- Final examinations — end-of-year exams typically run from October into November; Grade 12 national final examinations are written in this window.
- Tests and tasks through each term — formal assessment tasks are spread across the year per the CAPS programme of assessment.
Enrolled learners: your curriculum provider's official assessment timetable always takes precedence. The Centre shares the applicable exam and test timetables with enrolled families as they are released.
