About Lighthouse Learning

At our center, we are dedicated to supporting parents and learners by providing a structured and nurturing environment for home-schooling families. We use IMPAQ, a trusted supplier of education frameworks, as our curriculum provider. Their CAPS-aligned syllabus and timetables ensure that your child receives a quality education that meets South African standards.

It is important to note that we are not a private school but a Tutor Centre for Home School learners. This means we operate independently of the Department of Education, offering personalized tutoring services rather than formal teaching. Our experienced tutors are committed to guiding learners through their academic journey, building their confidence and fostering a love for learning.

Advantages of using a homeschool group or tutoring center.

Social Interaction and Peer Learning.
Students can interact with peers, participate in group activities, and develop social skills that may be harder to foster in a solo homeschooling environment.

Access to Specialized Expertise
Tutors and educators in these settings often have expertise in specific subjects, providing high-quality instruction that parents may not be able to offer.

Reduced Parental Teaching Burden
These groups take some of the teaching responsibilities off parents, reducing their workload and allowing them to focus on other responsibilities.

Structured Learning Environment
Tutoring centers or homeschool co-ops typically have a set schedule and curriculum, offering more structure than some homeschooling setups.

Preparation for Real-World Scenarios
Working in groups, following schedules, and collaborating with others can better prepare students for future academic or professional settings.
